Back in the day, fads started by things people saw on TV or on the radio but thanks to the Internet, we were blessed (or cursed, depending on how you look at it) with the first Internet-driven fad back in 1995 when Beanie Babies took the world by storm.

Since then, we’ve had a number of videos, memes, songs, dances, and in recent years, challenges.
From the Ice Bucket Challenge to the Mannequin Challenge, people are given a task to complete either for charity or just because there’s a catchy song and some bored people decided to do something strange, odd, or unique to the tune.
This summer’s challenge is unlike the others because it’s mainly being performed by basketball celebrities.

The #DriveByDunkChallenge is unlike any we’ve seen before.
The premise is incredibly simple and has yielded some “OMG” reactions. Essentially, you’re driving down the street and see a basketball net. You get out and dunk (or attempt to) on a random stranger’s driveway hoop.
The difference is that although the everyday playground star and common man is partaking in the challenge, so are NBA stars, coaches, and execs – although, to be fair, the one exec we’ve seen is a former player and victim of the #DriveByDunkChallenge, not the one participating in it.
