You’ve probably already heard all about Isaiah Thomas’ resiliency this postseason.

The Celtics’ superstar has been playing with a heavy heart (which is really understating it) since his sister, Chyna, died tragically in a car accident in their home state of Washington just before the start of Boston’s opening round series against Chicago.

Down 0-2, Thomas bravely and epically led the C’s back to win the series and move on to the Eastern Conference semis. They closed it out on the even of Chyna’s funeral.

Thomas flew to Tacoma to attend the services, then landed back in Boston around 4am. Six hours later, he was at the TD Garden with his teammates for the pre-game walkthrough for the semifinal opener against the Wizards. Midway through the first quarter, Thomas was accidentally elbowed in the face trying to get a pass and lost one of his front teeth in the process. I.T. toughed it out and led the Celtics to victory.

In Game 2 against Washinton, he did it again. This time to the tune of 53 points while leading his team to an overtime victory and a 2-0 lead in the series, and it was on what would have been his late sister’s 23rd birthday.

This game’s duel with the Wizards’ John Wall will go down in history as one of the greatest. Wall scored 40 points for Washington while also adding 13 assists, but it was I.T. who stole the spotlight. Of course, Boston fans everywhere couldn’t be prouder of their All-Star, but it isn’t just the city, organization, coaching staff, and his teammates that are really happy with Thomas’ performance.
