Kids today, of course, know who Michael Jordan is.
He’s the guy on those old posters, who sells the hot kicks, owns the Wizards, oh – and everyone tells them he’s the GOAT.
All of that is true but if you lived through his dominance in the 90’s he was so much more than all of those things.
MJ is an icon, but not just on the basketball court.
Jordan propelled Nike to near-world domination with a monumental marketing campaign that started in 1989 (Mars Blackmon and the “Gotta be the shoes”) that changed the sneaker game, endorsement game, and even the hoops game forever.
Just like Jordan helped to put Nike on top of the world, he did it for another brand, too.
