Year after year, NBA 2K is one of the best-selling and most popular sports gaming franchises in the world.
Gamers love it, fans love it, and players love it too. Maybe a little too much.
Some NBA stars are obsessed with the rating 2K Sports gives them and occasionally when they find out what their score is, they get a little defensive.
The player ratings for the latest installment, NBA 2K18, are starting to trickle out and there’s probably a handful of players who aren’t going to be happy with what they see.
To be fair, unless you’re LeBron James, Kevin Durant, or Steph Curry, you’re probably not going to be satisfied with your rating anyway, and even those three guys will tell you they want to be at 100.
But some of these? Ouch. Take a look at what 2K has released (so far):
Markelle Fultz – Philadelphia 76ers

Let’s just get the top-2 rookies out of the way. Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball both received an 80 for their first NBA 2K rating.

You may think that’s low, but it’s actually pretty fair. Especially when you consider this:
Dwight Howard – Charlotte Hornets

That’s the three-time Defensive Player of the Year and eight-time All-Star Dwight Howard. With an 81. Ouch.
