Nerd culture is becoming less and less…nerdy these days and no case proves this point more than the one you’re about to see.
No, it’s not eGames, which really isn’t nerdy at all.
We’re talking about The Saber Legion.
First of all, lightsabers are awesome. Due to obvious legal ramifications, Charley Cummings can’t use “lightsaber,” but “saber” suffices.
Cumming is the vice president and co-owner of The Saber Legion, and he’s not a nerd at all, just a huge fan of Star Wars.
“I would go see a movie about Obi-Wan Kenobi going to the grocery store,” Cummings said.
Cummings is actually a pretty normal guy. He’s a 45-year-old father who works at a Minnesota bank by day and dodges illuminated sabers at night.
Okay, this might sound a little on the nerdy side at first, but once you watch The Saber League in action, you’ll see that it requires much more athleticism and skill than it may seem from the onset.
