For the sixth straight Olympic Games, the United States topped the medal count with 121 overall, which includes 46 golds, 37 silvers, and 38 bronzes. The stars of Rio were undoubtedly the women, who for the second straight Games set a record with 61 medals, eclipsing the 58 medal mark they set in London four years prior. According to Team USA, if American women competed as their own separate country, they would have placed fourth among all nations in the overall medal count and tied for second in gold medals with 27.
U.S. gymnast Aly Raisman was one of a multitude of women who brought back multiple medals to the States with one gold in the team all-around and two silvers – one for the individual all-around and another in the floor exercise.
Raisman is no stranger to the spotlight, having also won two golds (team all-around, floor) and a bronze (beam) in 2012. After the London Olympics, Raisman finished in fourth place on Dancing With The Stars and two years later was featured in ESPN’s The Magazine’s 2015 Body Issue.
The 22-year-old beauty also garnered some attention from the young men out there, one in particular who actually grabbed her attention, thanks in part to being a professional athlete himself.
You’ve Got Good Taste, Colin!
Oakland Raiders tight end Colton Underwood, sent the Olympic start a video, with a little help from Yahoo! Sports, congratulating her for her Rio success and asking Raisman out on a date at the end.
It turns out, his Raiders teammate, long snapper Andrew East, is married to Beijing gold medalist Shawn Johnson, who is friends with Raisman.
So what did she say?
