UFC president Dana White dropped an absolute bomb during the postgame coverage of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals last week when he announced to the NBA on TNT crew that there was big news surrounding the possible Floyd Mayweather – Conor McGregor fight.

In a video that has since been seen by anybody with any interest in the superfight, White said one side had agreed to the bout.

“The McGregor side is done,” White said. “I’m starting to work on the Mayweather side now.

“I’m not saying the fight will happen, but I’ve got one side done, now it’s time to work on the other. If we can come to a deal with [Mayweather’s adviser Al] Haymon and Mayweather, the fight’s gonna happen.”

White said all along that his main focus is dealing with McGregor who is under contract with him in the UFC and that he was letting Floyd handle Floyd’s business.

White told FoxSports 1’s Colin Cowherd:

“I wanted to get McGregor locked in first because McGregor is under contract with me. At the end of the day, does this fight make a ton of sense for me? It really doesn’t. But Conor wants this thing really bad, and I’ve said this many times: The kid’s stepped up and saved some big fights for me. I’m in. I’ll figure it out.”

Is It Time To Grab The Popcorn?

Earlier in the day, Mayweather said he was just waiting to get information from White and McGregor.

“I’m not here to throw anybody under the bus, [and] I can’t sit here and say that they are waiting on us,” Mayweather said from London. “I’m not saying that. And we’re not waiting on them.

“I have a team for [negotiating], but as soon as their side [the UFC] communicates with our side, then the fight will happen.”

This Would Be The Biggest Draw In The History Of Either Sport

The world has been begging for this fight since “Money” retired after a 21-year professional career, which was one of the most illustrious in the history of boxing.

McGregor is arguably the biggest name in all of Mixed Martial Arts and by far the UFC’s biggest draw.

Even Vegas sportsbooks have taken in major cash on the fight already.

One person isn’t thrilled about the fight at all and has been vocal about his disdain for a Mayweather-McGregor match.
