Soon-to-be Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, who always nailed any appearance off the field as much as he did on it, hosted the 2017 ESPY Awards Wednesday night.
Because Manning was a highly successful quarterback, winning Super Bowls with both the Colts and Broncos, he had a little leeway when it came to athlete burns.
And he had them…
The most noticeable was in his opening monologue when he roasted Kevin Durant and tried to get Russell Westbrook to have his back (to no avail, Westbrook just sat there shaking his head) and his absolute savage burns at the Knicks.
Michelle Obama Was One Of The Most Popular Presenters At The 2017 ESPYs
Before we get to the video, Former FLOTUS, Michelle Obama drew one of the loudest ovations of the evening when she stepped onstage to present the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. This year’s recipient is Eunice Kennedy Shriver, who passed away in 2009.
Obama called her “a remarkable woman, a woman who believed that everyone has something to contribute and everyone deserves a chance.”
Her son Timothy Shriver now chairs the Special Olympics, which Eunice founded in the late 1960s to help empower people with intellectual disabilities, and accepted the award on her behalf.
