Even before Steph Curry signs his mega-max contract with Golden State, the biggest free agent name this summer was Gordon Hayward.

Yes, Curry was a free agent, but not really.

No one really believed the Warriors weren’t going to offer him a king’s ransom to stay and that the two-time NBA MVP would leave.

There were several other moves made since free agency opened Saturday at midnight, with the biggest names and deals being found here.

Then there was Hayward, who had met with the Heat, the Celtics, and Jazz (in San Diego) later Monday.

The entire basketball community was waiting patiently for the news. Where would he sign?

Both the Heat and Celtics pulled out all the stops for Hayward, and why shouldn’t they?

Hayward would automatically make both teams better, he’s a locker room guy who is well-liked by both the Utah organization and teammates, and he’s just coming into his prime.
