The best NBA players during the regular season aren’t necessarily the best ones on the court when the postseason arrives, just as some of the best players in the playoffs are sometimes not the All-Stars that would first come to mind.
For instance, many people incorrectly believe that Steph Curry, who won the NBA MVP Award for clearly being the best player in the league during the regular season, was the Finals MVP in 2015 after his Golden State Warriors won the title, when it was, in fact, Andre Iguodala that took home the Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award.
With the playoffs set to begin in just a couple of weeks, here is the list of the best postseason performers currently playing major minutes in the NBA and whose teams have already clinched a playoff berth or are getting close to one.
As previously mentioned, Iguodala was named Finals MVP in 2015, when a lineup change propelled the veteran forward to help spark the Warriors to their first championship in 40 years. Iguodala’s always been a playoff producer, though, and even led the postseason in minutes when he was with the Sixers back in 2009.
