It’s summertime which means the frenzy known as NBA free agency is underway, the kids are out of school, and baseball has become America’s past time for the next few months.
Of course, later this month NFL training camps open, but for now, baseball rules the school.

One fan in Tennessee got the surprise of his life recently when his wife presented him with a special baseball card.

Steve Winfree has been battling kidney disease for 14 years and has been on dialysis since November.
At this stage, a transplant is the only hope for Winfree to lead as normal a life as possible.

To combat the stress of having the debilitating disease, the Winfree’s often open up baseball cards together. It’s a hobby Steve has been doing since he was a child.
“There were a lot of times where he would be in the hospital and I would grab a pack and we would open them,” his wife Heather explained to MLB.com. “The low-key fun gets our minds off of the everyday stresses.”
